Bloomington Athletic Association offers affordable, inclusive youth soccer programs for players of all skill levels. BAA soccer helps children build teamwork, sportsmanship and fundamental skills in a fun, supportive environment.

BAA Soccer Program Overview
BAA provides fun, affordable, inclusive and safe youth soccer experiences powered by dedicated volunteers. Players develop soccer fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship and motor skills while participating in a family-friendly recreational program.
All Skill Levels
Players can learn and develop without competitive tryouts.

Volunteer with BAA Soccer
BAA soccer depends on parent, guardian, youth and community volunteers. Opportunities include coaching, assisting coaches, serving as a level director and officiating games.
Coaches and Assistant Coaches
Head coaches and assistant coaches guide players, organize practices and help create a positive team experience. No previous coaching experience is required for many levels, and BAA provides program resources and support.
Level Directors
Level Directors support coaches, share timely information with teams and families, help address questions and participate in soccer program planning as members of the BAA Soccer Committee.
Soccer Referees
BAA provides trained referees for most games. When a referee is unavailable, the home team may be asked to provide an adult or youth volunteer to officiate.
Formal certification is not required for BAA recreational soccer, and training is provided. To learn more, emailsoccerreferee@baaonline.org
BAA Soccer Tournaments and Playoffs
BAA soccer playoffs and tournaments are offered for the Cubs and Juniors levels. These events give families an opportunity to celebrate player development, teamwork and progress throughout the season while enjoying friendly competition.
Parents and guardians will receive tournament and playoff schedules in advance through LeagueApps or team communications.
BAA Soccer Levels and Divisions
Soccer divisions are based on the player’s grade in the upcoming school year. Game schedules and team information are posted in LeagueApps.
Typical Fall Game Times
- August: Games generally begin at 6:30 p.m.
- September: Games generally begin at 6:00 p.m.
- October: Games generally begin at 5:30 p.m.
Coaches determine team arrival and warmup times. Families should always confirm the current schedule in LeagueApps.

| Game Fundamentals | *Grades 3–4 focus on fun, skill development, and confidence. Players learn foundational soccer skills through active play and lots of touches on the ball. Equal playing time, creativity, teamwork, and enjoyment of the game are emphasized in a safe, age-appropriate environment. *4 x 13 minute quarters. *NO heading allowed. *See the BAA Soccer Rule book for more information. |
