Bloomington Athletic Association offers beginner cricket camps for youth in grades 1–8. Players learn batting, bowling, fielding and catching through fun drills, games and modified matches in a positive, welcoming environment.

BAA Beginner Cricket Camp Overview
BAA provides fun, affordable and safe youth sports experiences powered by dedicated volunteers. Our beginner cricket camp introduces young athletes to the fundamentals of cricket while helping them build confidence, coordination, teamwork and a love for the game.
Camp activities include energetic drills, skill-building games and modified matches designed for players who are new to cricket.
Batting
Learn basic stance, grip, swing mechanics and shot selection.
Bowling
Practice bowling form, control, accuracy and consistency.
Fielding and Catching
Build movement, throwing, catching and teamwork skills.
2026 Cricket Camp Schedule
Camp Dates: Sunday evenings, August 2 through September 27, 2026
No Camp: Labor Day weekend

Volunteer with BAA Cricket
Parent, guardian and community volunteers may be needed to support the lead instructor, organize activities and help players move through drills and games.

BAA Cricket Camp Details
Beginner cricket camp is available for players entering grades 1–8. Review the table below for current dates, times, locations, fees and program details.

| Experience | Kids will experience the thrill of hitting big shots, taking wickets with their bowling, and making exciting catches in the field — all while learning teamwork and sportsmanship in a supportive environment. Through fun, game-like activities, they’ll quickly discover why cricket is one of the most enjoyable team sports in the world! |
| Fundamentals | Campers will learn the core fundamentals of the game, including proper batting stance and swing technique, basic bowling grip and delivery, and safe, effective fielding and catching positions. Through age-appropriate drills and playful games, kids will also develop essential skills like hand-eye coordination, footwork, throwing accuracy, and an understanding of simple cricket rules and teamwork. |

| Equipment | *Campers should wear comfortable athletic clothes and bring athletic shoes good for running and fielding, along with a reusable water bottle and sunscreen. *BAA will provide all the cricket equipment — including balls, bats, and wickets — so kids can focus on having fun and learning the game without needing to bring their own gear. |
